Yah, sejak kematian drumer mereka The Rev , Ax7 belum ada lagu terbaru maupun single terbaru yang dirilis. Tapi, kini semua fans Ax7 di seluruh dunia bisa kembali menikmati musik M.Shadows cs. karena akhirnya merilis Single terbaru mereka yang berjudul "Nightmare".Singel terbaru ini resmi dirilis kemarin 18 Mei 2010. Isunya sih, Single Nightmare ini di gosipkan bakalan jadi single pembuka buat Album Avenged Sevenfold yang baru, sekitar bulan Juni-Juli mendatang. ini baru gosip lhoh..^o^

SKRATCH: I’ve read Avenged Sevenfold researched a bunch of other genres to incorporate into your music on your new album. What elements would you say helped the most?
JOHNNY: On the new record, we took the inspirations from the touring we did on the last record. Yeah, we just really wanted to make sure that we captured energy that we have live, and we kind of just inspired each other rather than just listening to a bunch of bands figuring out what we wanted to do. We just got in there and wrote what we wanted to write at the time. We’re really proud of this record and we can’t wait to have everybody hear it.
SKRATCH: Normally, bands have their first album self-titled. What made you want to self-title this one?
JOHNNY: This one, to us, is our fourth record now and we produced it ourselves and we’re very proud of it. Years down the road, when people think Avenged Sevenfold we really want them to think of this record.
SKRATCH: What’s the strangest thing to happen to you on stage?
JOHNNY: One time, quite a few years ago at a Warped Tour date in Ohio, I think it was, we were playing on stage and someone in the crowd threw a huge dildo up on stage. Matt picked it up and was singing and waving it around—we were laughing about it and he threw it back out into the crowd. It was pretty funny. It was pretty strange. There’s been a lot of other strange things too, but that’s the one that always comes to mind.
SKRATCH: You guys are quite popular now, but what would you say was the most difficult thing you had to go through trying to get into the music scene?
JOHNNY: Most difficult thing. It was really hard just having to tour and play shows everyday, ya know? We devoted ourselves 100 percent to this band from the very beginning. We didn’t have any money, so it was pretty hard to get food everyday, and we were driving in a van that’s breaking down every two seconds. Just breaking out into that idea was really rough on us, but we got through it being five best friends and all. As far as the music scene goes, we just always tried to make sure we weren’t playing too much like anything else and really stand out. That was always a big thing to us.
SKRATCH: Avenged Sevenfold has a very strong fan base. What is the coolest thing a fan has ever done?
JOHNNY: Coolest thing. Well, all the fans have been so great that is very big thing for us. We love every single one of our fans. They’re always so diehard and so crazy. Millions of them have tattoos of the death bat and it’s just so cool to see. So that in itself might be the coolest thing. A fan in Jakarta, we just got back from Indonesia and Asia, and a fan actually made a collage of every single public picture of us individually. She had five huge collages of all these pictures and so it was really cool to see, ya know, looking back at all these pictures we had never seen of ourselves. It was really cool.
SKRATCH: What does the band do to get ready for a show?
JOHNNY: You’ll usually find The Rev chugging down some red bulls, going crazy trying to wake up and get out there on stage. We might warm up a little bit. We just kind of hang out and get psyched for the show, warming up and just getting pumped to play in front of different fans every time.
SKRATCH: What’s your favorite thing about playing a show?
JOHNNY: My favorite thing is really just getting out in front of the fans. We just got back from the Asian Tour and we were in Jakarta—which is a total third world country and very Muslim based. We’d walk around and see two or three year old girls with no parents trying to get money. You still go to the show, and there’s like 4,000 kids out there, and it feels like we’re doing something really cool for them. I don’t know how many bands come through there and are able to do that so it was really great to be able to go out there and play a show for those kids.
SKRATCH: If your career were to end at the release of your newest album, would you be satisfied with your accomplishments?
JOHNNY: Ya know, after the tour we did with Metallica in Europe and we actually got to get onstage, personally I’d be very satisfied with my life. I’d be able to say I did something really cool. I went out and played a show with my favorite band and had a lot of fans. If it stopped today I’d still be pretty bummed, ya know, that whole rush of getting onstage every night would just be gone and I really wouldn’t know what to do.
SKRATCH: Avenged Sevenfold is originally from Southern California, right?
JOHNNY: Yeah we’re all from Huntington.
SKRATCH: Do you feel more at home or attached to the crowd when you play a show near Huntington?
JOHNNY: Yeah. Usually at those shows we have all of our friends come down and they’ll all be hanging out with us backstage and stuff. We look out in the crowd and we see a lot of new faces every time we come back to a home show. So it’s always more of a comfort level and more fun. We did a surprise Warped Tour show on Saturday and that was really cool. We had a lot of fun with that show. It was a home show and a surprise, so we just kid of put it together. We did a cover of “Linoleum.” We’ve always wanted to play “Linoleum” at a Warped Tour date.
SKRATCH: What’s your favorite album and why?
JOHNNY: Favorite album for me, would probably be the Metallica Black album. It’s just a classic record to me that is untouchable.
SKRATCH: Metallica or Pantera?
JOHNNY: Oohhh. You can’t do that one to me. That’s messed up. Can I go for like, Pantallica?

Band paling potensial beberapa tahun terakhir ini,A7X
"We're at the point now where we've come into our own," ujar M. Shadow dengan membawa sebagian ambisi dari album terbaru mereka:"city of evil" setelah 2 album terdahulu yang juga cukup sukses:"Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" dan "Waking The Fallen"
Mendengarkan A7X berasa mengingatkan kita(mungkin bapak-om kalian) pada sesuatu:Iron maiden! dan Metallica. Hal tersebut dibenarkan sendiri oleh M.Shadows dengan komentar susulanya:"In Southern California you're really brought up in the whole punk world. At the same time, we were growing up listening to Pantera, Megadeath, Metallica and Slayer records" dia bahkan menambahkanya lagi:"So then you think, 'I want to play in that kind of band, but I want to play in this kind of band.' Then you pass that point and all of a sudden you're just writing music and it comes out naturally. But that's what happens cause of all the different influences we have. And we're definitely not afraid to put anything in our songs if we think it calls for it."
Yeah,A7X memang melambangkan musik rock (ato mungkin metal?) masa kini, sama seperti gambaran orang terhadap GnR di dekade 1990-an.Mereka meneruskan tradisi dari GnR,Queen, dan Led Zeppelin. dengan menambahkan unsur orchestra di sebagian lagu mereka dan masih terdengar keras!!simak saja The Wicked Ends atau Beast and the Harlot,jangan lupa aksi solo dari Synyster Gate di Seize the Day yang mengingatkan kita pada Slash.
A7x "yang seperti disebut-sebut" merupakan reinkarnasi dari
Iron maiden,Guns and Roses, Queen, dan Elvis Costello (mungkin itu bukan selera kamu).Sementara itu, para personel dari A7X pergi, hang out, pesta, minum bersama seniornya itu.yah, salah satu personelnya bilang begini:"kami pergi kemana kami ingin pergi,dan kami minum dimana kami ingin minum" itulah gaya hidup para metalheads:hidup dengan cara mereka sendiri.
hal yang mengejutkan dari a7x:
"para strippers punya ikatan khusus dengan band ini"ujar Zacky V. "mereka sepenuhnya berada di jalan yang sama dengan kami,itu menjadi semacam obat tersendiri bagi kami"
tambah M.Shadows kenapa Strip club?? "Kami menyukai Strip club,itu membuat kami lepas kendali" wuuih!maknyus!!
Pengalaman yang patut dicatat adalah pertemuan mereka dengan Fat Mike dari NOFX (menyusul yah artikelnya) dimana dia memberi sebuah saran yang berguna"He's like, 'You know what, if you do this stuff long enough, you gotta fucking have fun. If you can't have fun on tour then you'll never last,'"
yah,seperti kata mereka juga "We've seen bands that we started out with that got a little bit of a head start or an early break and they're done. We've learned so much more doing it from the ground up. We've got so many more stories than other bands will have; so many more good times, bad times. It has made us stronger as a band too," bisa diprediksikan kalau band yang satu ini pasti bakal lebih bisa mengguncang dunia lagi.....
